One of the top two sites on the famous Vineyard Drive, Denner is the epitome of the new Paso Robles. Owner Ron Denner arrived in the late nineties with world-class aspirations and spared no expense in the vineyard. He then turned over the reins to Winemaker Anthony Yount and Farm Manager Aron Nevarez who farm organically — and in most years don’t even water. When it comes to canopy growth and crop load, the Cabernet here has a way of doing exactly what Aron asks. This Willow Creek site is substantially cooler than those in the Adelaida, giving a nice balance to My Favorite Neighbor.
The unique soils and microclimate of Denner Vineyard allow for long hang times with excellent maturity and extraordinary complexity. The 2019 shows off copious amounts of plum, black cherry, cocoa powder, anise, and rosemary on the nose. The savory palate features perfectly balanced acidity, a supple tannin structure and flavors of cherry and red currant with a long milk chocolate finish. Less than 100 cases were produced of 2019 Denner. Vineyard designates are reserved for club members only. Club members - please log in to purchase.
